Team Ratings: Aston Villa vs Manchester United 15/12/2013

1. David De Gea - 7 - Made a couple of smart saves and stood his ground during a spat with Agbonlahor.
2. Rafael - 7 - Showed great determination to put in a brilliant cross to create the opener. Supported Valencia well and kept Agbonlahor quiet throughout.
4. Phil Jones - 8 - Although rarely troubled this was a fantastic, commanding performance from Jones. He fought for every ball and won almost all of his challenges and headers.
6. Jonny Evans - 7 - Looked comfortable throughout and showed good distribution. Definitely deserves to be starting alongside Jones as their partnership looked impressive.
3. Patrice Evra - 7 - Although untested for large periods he remained composed and made some good interceptions. Also linked well with Januzaj down the left.
25. Antonio Valencia - 8 - A fantastic display. Looked confident and caused Luna all sorts of problems. Crossed for Welbeck's second and was a threat all afternoon.
23. Tom Cleverley - 8 - Kept possession well, completing 94% of his passes. He got a well deserved goal early in the second half with a nice finish after an energetic display that should see him be United's first choice midfielder in the absence of Carrick.
11. Ryan Giggs - 6 - Helped to control the game and the tempo. Taken off after playing his second game in a week.
44. Adnan Januzaj - 7 - A quiet game overall for the youngster as United got more joy down the right but his header allowed Welbeck to tap in for the first and he was always looking to cause Villa problems. Another promising display.
19. Danny Welbeck - 8 - Proved that he can do the job in his natural position with two good, instinctive finishes. A powerful performance.
10. Wayne Rooney - 7 - Was integral to the win, dropping deep to help out the midfield and helping create up front. He went close to scoring himself but his highlight was the perfect pass he gave to Cleverley for United's third goal.

Substitutions-

18. Ashley Young - 5 - Replaced Januzaj. Not much to do.
24. Darren Fletcher - 7 - Replaced Giggs. A really nice cameo where he looked comfortable and kept the ball well. Great to see him back.
29. Wilfried Zaha - 5 - Replaced Rooney. Came on for 6 minutes and didn't do a lot.
